Tree Work
Every home and landscape is unique. One of the most visible and valuable features in a landscape are the trees. They provide structure and scale for a property and often provide a shady space for the children to play or you to enjoy a peaceful moment.
Our skilled staff can assist you in assessing the condition of your trees and developing a plan which will ensure your trees are maintained and positioned to prosper in the future.
Plant Health Care
The goal of the Plant Health Care (PHC) Program at NatureWorks is simple. It is to ensure your trees and shrubs in your landscape are vibrant, robust, healthy and free of pests and disease.
We strive to take a sensible approach to caring for your plants. If a tree or shrub is not performing well we will first assess whether it’s the right plant for that location. Often the cause of an underperforming plant is that it may not like it’s home- like putting a sun loving plant in shade!
Secondly we will look to the cultural characteristics of the area in which the plant is located. Are it’s “feet” too wet? Is the soil excessively compact? Is the root flare at the base of the plant exposed or is it built up with mulch? If these conditions are present it will often lead to a stressed tree or shrub.
Just like a person- if a plant is weak and stressed then it is vulnerable to illness. Likewise, a strong plant (or person) can ward off enemies.
Our skilled technician will perform this assessment of your plants, make recommendations as needed, and perform spray treatments as needed. Our program consists of applications of dormant oil, insecticidal soap, anti-dessicant, as well as selective curative treatments for other seasonal pests. We are diligent in plant monitoring and delivering cost-effective and environmentally sensitive practices.
